Google made a major announcement of Google I/O about the search related features on 11th May 2022. The tech giant broadcasted many features such as multisearch near me, immersive map views, Google Translate & Lens expansion, image skin tones and schema, My Ad Centre, personal information tool, about this result expansion, Android and so much more.
Sundar Pichai, the Google CEO, while sharing the updates added that they are advancing two fundamental aspects of their mission which is knowledge and computing to create products that are built to help. Check out the latest Google updates following the announcement of Google I/O 2022.
Multisearch Near Me
The feature is launched in the Google App. It allows you to search taking a photo but can also ask a question at the same time. Sooner or later this year, a user can screenshot or take a picture and add ‘near me’ to get local results.

Scene Exploration
A user can scan an area and Google Lens will identify and overlay search information. The CEO said that the Scene Exploration is like a supercharged CTRL+F for the real world.

Skin Tone Google Image Search
The new feature Skin Tone Google Image Search will fulfil makeup queries with the help of schema. A user will find a new way to filter by relevant skin tones to find more helpful results such as ‘everyday eyeshadow’ and ‘bridal makeup looks’.

Google My Ad Centre
The Global company also announced that later this year we will be seeing My Ad Centre. Users can easily manage their ads privacy settings and even choose to see ads from categories or brands you like. It gives users more control over the ads they see across YouTube, Search and Discover.

Google Translate Gains 24 Language
Google adds 24 new languages to Google Translate using a breakthrough ML approach called Zero-Shot Machine Translation. The model will learn new languages without ever seeing a direct translation of it. Added languages include Indigenous Languages from Americas, Africa and India.

Google Assistant More Natural

Personal Information Removal Tool
A new tool will make it easier to remove personal information from Google Search. These informations can be your home address, phone number and email address. The feature will be available soon in the Google app and on individual Google Search results.

While concluding the minutes of sharing the features, Prabhakar Raghavan, Google’s senior Vice President genuinely said that users will have more natural, intuitive experiences across Google’s products, from a more immersive & 3D Google Maps to an Assistant that really understands users to much, much more.
He added, ‘We believe that the way you search shouldn’t be constrained to typing keywords into a search box… we’re reimagining what it means to search again, so you can search any way, and anywhere.’
